Fruit Bats in Tioman Island / Keluang di Pulau Tioman

Dari Pontian, sebuah daerah dari negeri selatan tanahair iaitu Johor, yang dekat dengan negara jiran iaitu Singapura

From the jetty we took a ferry ship to an island

Dari jeti tanah besar, ambil kapal feri ke pulau

Without booking of any hotel or resort, we tried our luck whether there was any room available.

The motor bike rider that commuted our bags and elderlies told and took us to a remote beach, the Idaman Beach Holiday resort at Kampung Genting. We agreed as all the beaches around Pulau Tioman are well known for being beautiful. Got the keys at a lobby which look like a cafe hut.  We walked to the unit and didn't realized that infront of the chalet  assigned was home of the fruit bats. 

The screeching sounds were going on and on, night and day non stop. Thought daytime is their sleep time, while at night they flew out from the tree, not as expected. We ignored it by going to the beach a bit further. When heading back to the chalet, we could hear the irritating nuisance sound from afar. 

It was a memorable experience going to an island without planning and booking.  Had a resort with sound of waves and  spooky creatures with clicks of chirping like and sound from  flapping of their wings. Island hopping and snorkeling activities still done deal.

Tanpa membuat tempahan di mama-mana hotel atau resort, kami cuba nasib kalau-kalau ada bilik chalet yang kosong. 

Penunggang motorbasikal yang mengangkut beg-beg kami juga warga emas memberitahu dan menunjuk kearah hotel terpencil, iaitu Idaman Beach Holiday resort di Kampung Genting. 

Setahu kami Pulau Tioman terkenal kerana dikelilingi oleh pantai pantai yang cantik, jadi kami tak kisah di mana pun untuk bermalam. Kami dapat kunci di lobi resort yang rupa seakan macam pondok cafe.

Bila kami jalan ke unit chalet, tak di sangka chalet yang diberi di depannya pantai yang indah, tetapi ada pokok pokok rhu yang menjadi rumah beratus ekor keluang di hadapannya. .

Bunyi keluang berbunyi nyaring, hingar bising, bertalu-talu tak habis-habis, ingatkan malam masa keluarnya, pun tidak, siang masa tidurnya pun tidak. 

Kami buat tak tahu hanya pegi ke pantai yang lebih jauh tetapi bila hala balik boleh dengar bunyi bising keluang dari jauh. 

Pengalaman yang manis ke pahit sebab suka juga hidupan liar, tapi suka juga bunyi ombak berderu ke pulau tanpa perancangan. 

Dapat resort berbunyi ombak dengan berdesing dari makhluk menakutkan, bunyi kibaran sayapnya yang meremang bulu roma. Alhamdulillah, aktiviti island hopping dan snorkeling tetap ada:)

Old Cable Ride from Genting Highlands

Spectacular View | Permandangan menakjubkan

Amazing international gateway | Tempat peranginan antarabangsa

The highland that is high enough to have a cooler weather from the capital city. It's 51Km far away from the city yet easy to get up and down since the existence of the cable car service. 

Take another ride by bus, car or drive fom KL city, stop at the lower station, about 4km below the peak. Actually we could drive direct up to the peak. Off course, we wanted to experience the ride and enjoying the view. 

The old cable car operated from 1997 - 2016. The new one has better view. Need to check if I have the video on this. 

The old one was quite stiff that made it special. 

My kids were little back then, they never been to theme parks, I rather let them experience the real ride like this. Expedition to nature or city with different vehicle or transporation if any. 

Hope you enjoy the ride, it was short coz at the time, video was not in trend yet right hehe.. The snippet is good to pursue a trip with the new cable car with better filming.

Tanah tinggi yang mempunyai cuaca sejuk tak jauh dari kota. 51km jauh dari KL tapi senang naik turun kerana adanya kereta kabel.

Naik kenderaan lain dulu dari KL dimana boleh menaiki bas atau kereta, memandu sendiri hingga sampai ke stesen bawah lebih kurang 4km jauhnya dari puncak. Sebenarnya boleh memandu hingga kepuncak, tetapi sudah tentu mahu kelainan dan alami menaiki kereta kabel serta menikmati pemandangan indah dan permai itu. 

Kereta kabel yang lama ini telah beroperasi dari 1997 hingga 2016, lalu ditamatkan khidmatnya apabila laluan kereta kanel yang baru mulai beroperasi     sejak 2016. Pemandangan dari kereta kabel yang baru itu lebih indah. Saya mungkin ada menyimpan rakaman video mengenainya.

Anak anak pun masih kecil semasa rakaman video diatas dibuat. Mereka tak pernah ke taman tema lagi. Alhamdulillah saya lebih suka mereka mengalami menaiki kenderaan sebenar seperti ini lagi. 

Pengembaraan ke alam semula jadi atau ke kota dengan menaiki kenderaan yang berlainan jika boleh.

Diharap semuanya menikmati video yang dipaparkan. Tak berapa panjang sebab zaman tu tak berapa trendy lagi kan..moga paparan ni dapat menaikkan semangat untuk merancang expidisi baru dengan kereta kabel baru dengan lebih baik pembikinannya.

Monorail Ride

Took a ride before witnessing fireworks for new year celebration. Naik monorail, sebelum menyaksikan persembahan bunga api sempena tahun baru

Parents chit chatted with tourists.  | Bapa Emak berbual dengan pelancong. 

Talk about dad, he likes to go out to get breakfast for mom or they go out together and buy newspaper. Because of pandemic, he was struggling to stay home but he managed it well. 

Bercakap tentang bapa, beliau yang selalu bawa balik sarapan untuk emak atau keluar bersama sambil beli surat khabar.  Namun sejak pandemik ni, dialah yang cuba menjadi penyabar duduk di rumah. Alhamdulillah dia dah menyesuaikan diri. 

We have toured regularly around the peninsular of Malaysia. We explored the most in the central of our capital city. I preferred sitting down and sipping drinks at mamak shop. But that day, I lifted my body to venture by walking along the road side leading to monorail station at Bukit Nenas. Confused the rail went to Bukit Bintang or to Raja Laut. 

In between buildings that's for sure. One by one they were passing thru, visible by windows left and right. We enjoyed the moment on rail, kids and adults alike.

At the end of the rail is the NU Sentral station, but KL Sentral is the mother-of-all stations, where it'll connect you to anywhere you want to go in the Klang Valley. 

Now I'm kind of doubt whether the ride is an LRT or a monorail. First monorail then LRT. It was a good ride before the New Year Eve. We nevertheless had to rush back to the city for the fireworks.

I remembered seeing friends posting that their kids tucked on comfy beds at 12 midnight sharp. While we gawked with full round eyes to the awesome pyrotechnics display till the early of New Year morning. (in the future post). Due to tiredness, I leisurely followed the flow of the moment, some said that I was reluctant to join in the joy. I thank those who organised the celebration for the event, mind blowing moment and do missed that particular fun time that we used to have with regretness, as it has been two years that all events were kept to a halt.

Kami main-main bagai touris walaupun di Semenanjung Malaysia. Saja-saja terokai di tengah ibu kota. Lebih suka lepak duduk mengeteh bila hari petang suntuk begitu. 

Tapi mengangkat juga tubuh badan, menapak sepanjang jalan yang membawa ke stesen Bukit Nenas, masuk ja tak lupa duduk hehe.. 

Keliru juga trek ketapi bawa ke Bukit Bintang ke, atau ke Raja Laut. Yang pasti terjah di antara bangunan. 

Permandangan cepat berlalu kiri kanan tingkap ketapi satu rel. Nikmat sungguh rasa, macam rusa masuk pekan katakan, atas trek dengan generasi muda tua. Sampai di hujung tu stesen NU Sentral, KL sentral adalah 'ibu' pada semua stesen yang boleh bawa kita kemana mana di Lembah Klang ini.

Ragu pula LRT ka ni. Apapun monorail dulu kemudian LRT. Perjalanan tepi bangunan yang menarik sebelum masuk tahun baru. Namun terpaksa tergesa balik ke tengah bandar untuk tujuan asal,  'usha' bunga api menjelang tahun baru. 

Seingat saya kawan saya post gambar anak-anak mereka sedang tidur tepat pukul 12 malam. Manakala kami mendongak dengan mata bulat penuh melihat pecahan dan kilauan cahaya bunga api yang menakjubkan di langit. Penat juga malam tu, ada mengatakan saya jual mahal pula, macam tak enjoy. Terima kasih kepada yang merancangkan detik indah itu. begitu menyayat hati hingga kini merindui saat lalu dengan sesalan, kerana telah dua tahun semuanya terberhenti.
