Menapak, mengambil pula
It was a beautiful morning, but I was not so hungry. However, I had a craving for an authentic Malaysian food from a restaurant at the nearby mall.
As for mall outlets, normally we only can place order at 10 am.
The restaurants that cater breakfast really early in the morning are only few that I knew of. Indian nasi kandar food which also known as restaurant mamak provides early morning meal; Or elsewhere there are McDonald's or Coffee Bean & Tea leaf and even Starbucks.
I'm craving for food from the shop at the mall, but they don't open until 10 am. While waiting, I went to the kitchen and take out the garbage from two bins and in the basket for recycle items. The feeling of taking out the garbage its like detox and to make the
house smell good. Went out with the garbage, walked straight to the bin box.
While walking I saw the pegaga herbs is also a type of water cress blooms beside the grass. I pulled them from the root and transfered to pots. This herb is quite well known for it's 'stay young' properties amongst Malaysians (or elsewhere too?)
I walked back into the house, washed my hands, and quickly made an order for food. Approximately 20 minutes later, the nasi lemak daun pisang arrived, oh! such a relief and satisfying taste. The reward of patiently waiting.. mmm even birds had early breakfast :)

Pagi indah yang tak berapa lapar. Selera dipagi inginkan makanan autentik dari restoran di pasaraya yang berdekatan. Pasaraya hanya akan dibuka pada pukul 10 pagi.
Restoran yang menyediakan sarapan yang saya tahu, kedai mamak atau nasi kandar, selain dari Mcdonald's atau Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf malahan juga dari Starbucks.
Dah tekak teringin yang special hari ni jadi saya sanggup tunggu.
Sementara menunggu, saya pergi ke dapur, ambil bungkusan-bungkusan sampah, terus keluar dari rumah dan buang di kotak sampah.
Semasa berjalan balik menghala ke rumah, saya ternampak pokok pegaga merunyut tumbuh bagai cendawan tumbuh lepas hujan. Saya cabut dari akar, pindah anak pokok ke pasu. Herba ini memang terkenal dengan 'awet muda' nya dikalangan warga Malaysia (dan mungkin warga lain juga?)
Selesai menanam saya masuk dan basuh tangan, terus tekan pesanan. Dalam anggaran masa 20 minit, Alhamdulillah sampailah makanan yang dinanti iaitu nasi lemak daun pisang yang oh! sedap, dan puas hati. Itulah ganjaran bersabar menunggu, mmm.. tengok burung-burung pun dah kenyang.

Tempat saya pagi ni hujan. Sedap tu kalau dapat makan nasi lemak daun pisang panas panas. Aroma dia buat rasa tak sabar nak makan. Sesekali teringin makanan lain. Pegaga buat ulam sedap tu :)

ReplyDeleteI remember the pegaga drink sold in penang. In kl seldom see pegaga drink being sold. Hope your pegaga plant grow a lot for you to make pegaga drink.
