Assalamualaikum / Peace be upon you

It has been awhile since I haven't updated blogs here...The lost of a loved one has given quite a big impact on me.  AL-Fatihah (the opening)

/ Dah lama tak ke sini.. Sejak kehilangan insan tersayang. Telah memberi impak keatas diri ini. Al-Fatihah.


Not sure how to start but I knew that I've moved on with the important things such as food to keep going especially taking care of my mother, my heaven. 


I love keeping the journey of my food intake or food homecooking. Simple ones always when the food came from me. As I'm not yet a chef🤭 


Ok I steamed soft tofu, stir fry the seafood to topup on the tofu. Some put on soysauce with spring onions sounds good and heathy too.  


Just because I need to save time and to retain nutrition from the green vege, I steamed sawi (green vege) and cover it with sweet chilli seafood. It is so delicous, one should try. 


Can't believe the iftar also prepared curry chicken, that's a lot. Grateful. The main thing that day I managed. I even made wraps for sahur, Alhamdulillah.

Tak pasti gaimana nak mula tapi sedia tahu yang saya teruskan kelangsungan hidup dengan perkara yang penting seperti pengambilan makanan untuk kekal bertenaga agar boleh berbakti kepada ibuku, syurgaku. 


Saya gemar mencatit perjalanan jurnal permakanan yang disediakan atau masak sendiri. Ringkas² saja dari saya. Saya belum bergelar tukang masak kan🤭


Ok saya kukus tauhu lembut, goreng gaul makanan laut untuk dihidang atas tauhu panas². Ada yang tuangkan campuran sos, ditaburkan daun bawang, dengar pun dah menyelerakan dan menyihatkan. Boleh cuba...sedap. 


Hanya untuk menjimatkan masa dan mengekalkan khasiat di dalam sayur, saya guna kaedah mengukus. Tak percaya pula ada kari ayam, banyak tu. Alhamdulillah. Perkara YANG utama pada hari tu, saya uruskan yang termampu. Alhamdulillah. Juga buat  wraps untuk bersahur.

Lobster Charcoal Sandwich n etc at St Regis | Sandwic roti arang Udang Kara dan sebagainya di Hotel St Regis

After pick up father. we planned to have lunch.|

Selepas ambil bapa, kami rancang nak makan tengahari

Since Uncle was here yes this was in Feb 22 we hope he would invite us for lunch.| Masa uncle ada di sini ya  dalam bulan Feb 22 ni, kami harap dia jemput kami untuk makan tengahari


When I got the invitation from Uncle, I planned not to tell dad so early.  Accidentally he knew, then dad had his own plan to treat his son (Uncle) and my mother fish curry. So we stopped to buy a pack of fish curry.


Somehow we still proceed having lunch at Uncle's place. Theres slightly changes, we went there early coz of dad's eagerness.


And I had to carry the plastic of fish curry as dad didnt want to leave it in the car. I thought I could  walkin in style haha..


Thats why we had sandwich as it was during brunch time.


We had sandwiches were lobster fillings

Salmon fillings

Another one was seafood I think with croissant

and the waitress was very nice. 


Dad had hot chocolate as he had morning coffee already

Uncle had cuppucino

We also had hot choc


The sandwiches were delicious and juicy.  The drinks were the best as well and the prices were also bombastic and would shake my hands if I'd  to pay hehe..but host said his pleasure. 


Grateful we had to experience brunch at the lounge of St Regis Hotel. I had real lunch at the restaurant at the different level too on different day here, love to share it again. The same host. Thank you so much.

Forgive me for my short comings. Eid Al Mubarak


Bila dapat jemputan dari Uncle, saya rancang nak beritau bapa lambat sikit. Tak sengaja bapa tertahu awal pula. Dia pula buat rencana sendiri nak menjamu kari ikan kat anaknya (uncle) dan isterinya Emak hehe.. 


Tah macamana kami masih teruskan jumpa Uncle untuk makan tengahari. Tapi kami pergi awal, asbab keterujaaan bapa atau sikap bapa tak menyempat melanda.


Dan saya pula kena bawa kari ikan bungkus sebab bapa tak nak tinggal kari ikan tu di dalam kereta. Adoi tak bole la nak jalan bergaya masuk haha..


Sebab tu kami menjamah sandwic dah sampai waktu sarapan merangkap makan tengahari.


Kami menikmati sandwich berisi

Satu lagi tu mix seafood kalau tak silap dengan roti croissant

Dan pelayan pun baik. 


Bapa minum coklat panas sebab dia  minum kopi awal pagi tu. Uncle ambil cuppucino

Kami pun minum choc panas


Sandwic yang dihidangkan sangat sedap dan enak. Minuman pun beraroma segar, harga pun nak sama naik hebat juga hingga tergentar tangan jika saya yang membayar hehe.. Tapi hos berbesar hati. 


Syukur dapat pengalaman makan sarapan merangkap makan tengahari di lounge hotel st Regis.  Pernah juga makan lunch kat restoran di tingkat lain di situ, ingat nak kongsi bila-bila. Hos yang sama. Alhamdulillah. Terima kasih banyak-banyak.

Chili Beef Lung and Tom Yum Soup | Sambal Paru Lembu dan Sup Tom Yam

Came back from Lotus the hypermarket here with cut vege and ready to cook Tom Yum ingredients. | Balik dari Lotus bawa balik sayur dan bahan Tom Yam yang dah dipotong sedia dimasak.

Beef lung was kept frozen for a few days, its time to cook it with green chilli paste. | Paru lembu yang telah disimpan beku beberapa hari dah patut dimasak sambal hijau paru. 


While cooking, I got a call from a guest to come over for breaking fast with us. So I continued cooking, didn't add any dish but added an extra plate.


I still arranged the plates on the kitchen table. Didn't have any intention to do it at another place.


Luckily we didn't feel cramped with 5 pax at the small diner setting. 


The Tom Yum didn't turn up as expected. Then I concluded that it's the end of story for me as a cook. Need to be served and cooked for hehe. like Henry Ford, he"s not good in a certain skill, so he just 'hired' the right peeps :) to do the job for him hehe.. 


Anyway, the beef lung turned up so good until I could eat it just like that, on it's own. Of course there was celery mix orange apple juice to grab if it too spicy :) 


That was a beautiful evening with prayers lead by the guest. Thankful.

Semasa memasak dapat panggilan dari tetamu nak berbuka dengan kami. Saya teruskan memasak tak tambah  lauk tapi letak pinggan lebih satu. 


Saya susun pinggan di atas meja dapur. Tak da rancangan nak pergi tukar tempat lain. 


Nasib baik, kami tak rasa  bertemu bahu berlima di meja makan halus ni.


Kuah Tom Yam tak lah menjadi seperti diharapkan. Kira habis cerita aih buat diri ni jadi tukang masak. Macam kena jadi orang yang menunggu dihidangkan dan dimasakkan ja :) ibarat Henry Ford, dia tiada kemahiran dalam satu bidang, jadi beliau hanya upahkan orang yang pakar bidang tu jer hehe.. 


Apapun, paru lembu terjadi dengan sedapnya sampai boleh diratah begitu saja. Tapi mestila ada jus seleri campur oren epal nak capai kalau terpedas :) 


Malam pada hari tu sangat indah, bersolat terawikh berimankan tetamu seorang tu. Alhamdulillah. Syukur.

Fish Curry, Pan Grilled Chicken by kids & Cendol| Kari Ikan, Ayam panggng dalam pan dimasak oleh anak-anak & Cendol

Its time to delegate tasks to others | masanya untuk menurunkan tugasan kepada generasi muda

Chose something easy with less ingredients and not time consuming. | pilih masakan yang kurang bahan dan tidak makan masa lama. 


Early in the morning, I told abang that I preferred him to prepare his favorite dish. He agreed and willing to do it.


On the other hand, adik preferred chicken, so I told her, she could learn cooking her favorite food, and at least becomes an expert on preparing one dish of hers. 


She's fine with the idea. While preparing, they took out what they need. I made sure that the ingredients were in order and with the right proportion.


Fish Curry:

2 blocks of fish

Half an onion, 5 garlic cloves

Fermented fish (belacan) paste

Tamarind juice

Curry powder paste (mix with water)

Mixed Halba


As for chicken:

Honey

Thymes

Dried basils

Salt

Pepper

chicken

Marinate the meat


I prepared Cendol. Bought a pack of cendol, cooked gula melaka syrup, and poured bought coconut milk. And plain water for drinks. 


That's it for breaking fast on that day. Simple :)

Awal pagi tu, saya beritau abang lebih elok jika dia sediakan makanan kegemarannya. Dia setuju dan memaklum je. 


Di sebalik itu, si adik pula lebih gemar ayam, jadi bincang dengannya tentang belajar masak ayam kesukaannya, sekurang kurangnya, cekap satu juadah. 


Adik mengiyakan dengan buah fikiran tu. Sementara menyediakan bahan, mereka keluarkan apa yang perlu. Saya pastikan bahan ikut susunan dan cukup sukatan. 


Kari ikan:

2 ketul ikan

Separuh bawang holland dan 5 ulas bawang putih

Belacan

Jus asam jawa

Serbuk kari campur air

Halba campur


Manakala untuk ayam pula:

Madu

Herba Thymes

Herba Basil kering

Garam

Lada

Satu bahagian ayam

Perap


Saya sediakan Cendol. Beli jer se paket, masak gula melaka hingga jadi sirap. Campur dengan santan. Dan air masak sebagai minuman. 

Itu jer, juadah berbuka, ringkas :)

Pilaf rice (turned out differently)/ fruit juice | Nasi hujan panas tak jadi /air buah

Middle East rice alike was our break the fast dinner | Nasi Timur Tengah, juadah berbuka 

The pilaf rice is ghee rice with drops of colors in so its called Sunny Rainy Rice hehe | Itulah nasi minyak yang ditabur setitik dua perwarna dipanggil nasi hujan panas


It happened that day we craved for briyani type of rice, as lacking of ingredients we attempted to make the famous among us pilaf rice with mixture of colors (existing baking ingredients hehe) 


The fate of the rice that evening turned red, red alert panicking of wonders of taste, how would it be.  


Luckily the taste was still good and the fragrance was appetizing. So we could eat in peace. 


Meanwhile I prepared celery juice mix with orange abit of apple, that was refreshing, if you could see I prepared also all the type of sauces to cook wantan mee for sahur our supper meal. 


So I know the cause of mistake on the color because of tiredness and think of too much to do at the last minutes. Ok next to prep proper one and manage it well hopefully :))

Nak jadikan cerita rasa nak makan nasi minyak ala biryani, disebabkan tiada bahan, Coba masak nasi femes iaitu nasi hujan panas sebab bahan yang ada perwarna buat kek hehe (mood baking kembali) 


Ditakdir nasi yang dimasak petang tu jadi merah menyala, nino nino panik dengan memikirkan apa rasanya. 


Alhamdulilah rezeki rasanya sedap, wanginya pun menyelerakan. Bolela makan dengan tenang. 


Sambil tu saya sediakan air seleri campur buah oren epal sikit, menyegarkan betul. Yang sebenar jika nampak ada juga bahan kicap bagai untuk masak mi wantan buat sahur. 


Jadi dah agakla,  tak jadi ni sebab keletihan fikir, nak buat semua masa yang singkat hujung-hujung waktu berbuka. Lain kali buat awal dan uruskan dengan seelok mungkin, harap-harap la :))

Butterfly Pea Shortbread | Biskut Shortbread bunga Telang

Asyik tonton video dari Pinterest cara buat biskut musim bunga

Attracted on how beautiful the cookies with pressed flowers. | Tertarik dengan kecantikan biskut yang diletak bunga kering


I didn't edit the video well for blog, as it took a lot of photos to shorten it, so I attached with only a teaser video.  


Earlier on, I am fond of the beauty of edible flowers. I fell more for the ones decorated on cookies, they are so pretty. 


I didn't hesitate to pick the blue butterfly peas, washed them, dried them before placing them between the pages of a book. 


When the mood came, I chose the recipe that is using less sugar. 


The recipe called out for somerhing like this:


1 cup of butter

1/2 cup of sugar

2 cups of flour

1 tsp of vanilla

Mix butter and castor sugar til white, add flour and vanilla. Let it chill in fridge for two hours. 


The dough is kinda soft, I should have added flour but I didn't.  The taste is nice buttery, melt in the mouth but not that crunchy and not easy to break. Today, I'm going to finish another batch, and will put higher temp and more time and see the outcome.  


Oh yes, the flowers, I pressed on the cookies right after the cookies came out from oven and coated with sugar. Some I put back in the oven to bake more and yet the flower didn't shrink or become brownish. 


That's it :)

Saya tak edit video elok untuk buat blog sebab ambil masa agak panjang dan keluarkan banyak gambar untuk pendekkan, jadi saya letak video trailer jer. 


Memang seawalnya, saya suka lihat kecantikan bunga musim bunga yang boleh konsum ni, apa tah lagi, terus jatuh hati pula bila ia di atas biskut, lawa sangat.


Saya tak teragak agak untuk petik bunga telang yang biru, basuh, keringkan sebelum letak di atas kertas minyak di antara muka surat buku. 


Bila mood mai ja, saya pilih resepi biskut yang kurang gula. 


Resepinya lebih kurang macam ni saja:


1 cawan mentega

1/2 cawan gula kastor

2 cawan tepung

1 tsp vanilla

Campur mentega dan gula, krimkan hingga hampir putih. Tambah vanilla dan tepung. Perapkan dalam peti sejuk selama 2 jam. 


Adunan agak bermentega dan lembut. Patutnya saya perlu tambah tepung tapi tak tambah pun. Rasa sedap cair dalam mulut tapi tak rangup dan tak mudah pecah,.  Hari ni nak abiskan sebahagian lagi, mungkin tambah suhu dan masa lebih.


Oh ya, bunga, saya tekan di biskut sebaik biskut dikeluarkan dari oven, dan tabur sikit gula atas bunga. Ada yang saya masukkan balik dalam oven, bunganya tak kecut atau bertukar warna. Alhamdulillah. 


Itu jer.
